The Nanoparticle Process Technology (NPPT) group performs scientific research on synthesis, processing, structure, properties and application of nanoparticles and nanostructures. We teach courses in nanotechnology, measurement science, chemical engineering and materials science and developed the novel NanoEngineering bachelor and master study program together with Gerd Bacher and Wolfgang Mertin (WET).
Our scientific goals are to generate, characterize and integrate functional nanomaterials and to discover, develop and understand corresponding processes along the process chain.
Markus Winterer (NPPT, UDE) together with Chengjun Sun (APS at ANL), Katherine L. Page (ORNL and U Tennessee) and Lena F. Kourkoutis (Cornell U) is organizing the symposium ‘Developing In Situ and Operando Methodology for Observation of Energy Conversion, Storage and Transport Processes in Materials and Devices’ at the MRS fall meeting 2020 in Boston, USA.
NPPT is a division of the Institute for Combustion and Gasdynamics (IVG), the Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering (MBVT) and the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Duisburg-Essen. Markus Winterer is founding member of the Center for Nanointegration Duisburg-Essen, CENIDE.
